Burna boy isn’t just trending on Twitter for his awesome performance, but also for the amount of cash he generated from his sold-out Madison Square Garden Concert!
It would be recalled that Burna is the first Nigerian music artist to headline a sold-out concert in Madison Square Garden in New York, USA.
While his achievement is mind-blowing, he is also the first to rake over N3 billion in ticket sales alone.
According to Business Day, Tickets sold for as low as $80 with an average of $350 and as high as $2,125. Their calculations using average sales of N145,365.50 ($350) multiplied by the total available capacity for a music concert in the arena of 20,789, with the current exchange rate of N415.33 the sum totals $7,276,150 which cost over N3,022,003,379.50.
This puts Burna Boy ahead of his colleagues with his 2 hours internet-breaking concert.
The concert titled ‘One Night in Space’ streamed live on YouTube gaining over 81,000 viewers drawing fans from different countries including Nigeria, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
With this achievement, Burna Boy finally joins Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Adele, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber, and Mariah Carey on the list of artists, who have sold out the world’s most famous arena.
